Cheetah speed returns to SimCity, work on update 2.0 continues

Maxis has let the Cheetah roam free once again as the highest game speed returns to SimCity after having been disabled shortly after launch. Now Mayors can really watch their cities hustle and bustle.

Work continues on the next update to SimCity which addresses a lot of gamer gripes to do with city services, mass transit and other AI quirks. Still no timetable for its arrival.

"Yes, it's true -- we've recently brought back Cheetah Speed," posted the SimCity Facebook. "We're also working on Update 2.0, so stay tuned for more info."

Update 2.0 is said to vastly improve city services like fire trucks actually responding to multiple fires and not just 'clumping up' at one. Sim bus drivers have gone back to driving school and shouldn't become quite the menace they are now. No actual changelog has been revealed yet but hopefully Maxis will spill the details soon.

By the time this is affordable, it might actually be stable. While "Cities XL" has taken over the reigns from "SimCity 4" quite nicely (once they sorted out the memory leakage problems) I'm yet intrigued and beguiled by this one.
