Quantic Dream has had PlayStation 4 development kits 'very early on' reveals studio VP Guillaume de Fondaumiere. During Sony's PS4 conference a tech demo from Quantic was shown off.
The French developer has been in pre-production on their next-gen title since the middle of 2012. They can't yet say when it will enter full production, but it's doing well.
Not much has been said about the PS4 title except that it is likely to be in the style of Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls, so a very interactive and story focused adventure.
"We received PS4 development kits - at the beginning it's specs then it becomes early kits - very early on," he said. "We were among the first studios in the world to receive those kits."
"Technology has been going on for quite a while now," Fondaumiere continued. "We've started to work on the pre-production of that new game since the middle of last year." They're unsure when the next phase will commence. "That's too early for me to tell. It's a very ambitious project, so it's going to start when it's ready."
If history is anything to go by, the new game will have Singularity in its title as Quantic has previously registered heavyrainps3.com and beyondps3.com. Beyond: Two Souls releases on PS3 October 8th.
