Does not look bad at all :)
An HD video would make this even nicer.

I've noticed that the archers seem kinda weak, as usually.

About time we had a gameplay video:)
As with "RTW", this one will require a few upgrades, not simply getting a new 690 GTX. Be well worth it though. I like the tactical view, but where's the blood and gore? Oh that's tight...DLC.

Now imagine "Dawn of War III" with this engine.....*drool*

Hoping for more info on modability myself. Even if it's just slightly more flexible than the previous games I would be very happy.

First thing to go - tracer arrows, then unit differentiation.

Uh guys, sorry for the offtopic but i`ve been trying to connect to my SI account from my tablet and it doesn`t let me,says incorrect username or pw,could anyone help me here?

Sure, let me know both username and password...and your bank account details while you're at it.

Seriously though, I can't access your password (as that's of course private even in Admin), but have you tried your email address instead of your username and the password if you can remember it? If not just click on "forgotten password".

No gf from October onward. And that is a good thing. And I'll be curious to see how _germanic_ tribes will defeat my legions forest or not...

Dan your username and password work via desktop but not via your tablet?

I can only contribute that connecting from my Nexus 7 using Chrome does not offer any difficulties.

CA always does the full on graphics whore approach...thank god I have a machine that can handle it this time, I remember playing Shogun II on low settings...so painful

You don't need a titan to run that game decently -_-

You think they WANT to lose money on this or something? I have a 4GB GTX 680 installed, I will be juuuuust fine.

Hell Chosen, I have a 560Ti and I run "Shogun II" on ULTRA in DX11. No frame drop, no stutters...nothings like what I experienced going from "ETW" even to "NTW". I'd say I'll be able to push "Rome II" to it's limits, but have to beg off in larger battles until I can afford a 690.

Um guys i seem to have a problem,i can`t login to my account from opera anymore,i did it from firefox now, screw logging in from the tablet now i just want to be able to be back on opera,it keeps telling me wrong username or pw and i don`t know why.

You WILL be able to max the game in a 4GB 680...it is a 500$ card and one of the most powerful you can possibly get. Provided they optimise it properly I will have no issues.

Now the CPU might bottleneck me in big battles...not quite sure how heavy those games are on the CPU really TBH.

@dan

A buddy of mine had a similar issue with a forum, try clearing your cache and then disabling Ghostery temporarily. (his words)

A gtx680 should be able to handle the game perfectly fine since it doesn't seem to be a huge upgrade over Shogun, and my hd6950 had no issues with that one even at 2560x1440.

Clear the caches but it did nothing, also i don`t have ghostery installed.

Edit: had to reinstall opera but i can login now.

Multiplatforms are really the only games, save a few, that are bottlenecked with the CPU. This is as consoles rely more o the CPU than the GPU, though that might change with the next-next generation of boxes. "GR: Future Soldier" is an excellent example of how a console port strangles a PC gamer's CPU.

What's GPU?

Graphics processing unit

The video card basically :)

Aha, thanks :) But Rome II doesn't look graphically more demanding than Shogun II, wich works fine on my PC. I hope I won't be needing an upgrade to it really...

I think unless you have to turn down Shogun to low settings you will be fine. I am assuming SOME improvement.

I ran Shogun II on medium quality, and it worked without a glitch, frame rate was very good. I don't need to run a game in HD to enjoy it (I also like to play old classics wich are graphically obsolete by far with no grudge against bad graphics they have today). I would like to have state-of-the-art configuration, but I'm saving to buy a better car, and I can't afford a PC upgrade this year. And if I have to choose between PC and a car, car always wins :)

"NTW" looked very similar to "ETW", however there were additional graphic effects that made many a PC grimace with them checked in the options screen - slide-shows with ground impact effects and especially the sand/dust storms going on.
This too obviously has some new additions, and even though I can run "Shogun 2" on Ultra, I think these additional effects might cause some stutters with large scale battles.
Have to wait and see. If only there will be a demo as there was with "RTW", as there certainly should be if only to test rigs.

Well, my logic with PC components goes like this: buy the best performing configuration, and you're set for next 5 years. Since I bought this up some 3 years ago, I don't expect to need an upgrade for next 2 years, and if I can run RTW2 on medium or high with no problems, I'll be content with that. Skyrim works with me on high graphics with lots of graphic enhancments mods, so I hope I wont need a new graphic card for Rome II.

You should be fine, just toggle off the fancy stuff like ambient occlusion

I hope so. But what is antialiasning? I always see that in options but never knew what it is...or does in the game.
By Paceydre (SI Member) on Apr 28, 2013
Paceydre
"Antialiasing is a way of smoothing edges. Computer monitors display pixels, but real objects have curves and lines. In order to display these on a computer monitor, the edge is often jagged. Antialiasing helps reduce the problem by slightly blurring edges to the point where jagged lines don't show easily or at all"

So yeah, it makes straight lines :P

Is pretty intensive at high levels, always a good thing to dial down if you're having troubles.

4X AA is more than enough, but I do like my SSAO, Distortion Effects and HDR. Might have wait for them, though as I say I do have them all turned on in "Shogun 2", despite GTX 580's (one up from me) struggle.
A demo really would help.
