In an exclusive dev diary posted by Sony, some top Blizzard staffers are talking about the experience the studio has gone through with bringing Diablo III to PS3 & 4 - taking them away from mouse and keyboard.

They're adamant the controller lets us feel 'intimately connected' with our characters, which is the most critical component of the entire enterprise. "...the controller is king."

Production Director John Hight, Lead Designer Joshua Mosqueira, and Senior Designer Jason Bender are the voices of Blizzard in this on-going 'Conversations With Creators' series.

"From a player’s perspective, there’s a fundamental difference between indirect control, with a mouse cursor, and direct control, which can be achieved with a PlayStation controller," posted Diablo III community manager, Lylirra on the EU PlayStation.Blog. "In this video, they highlight key reasons why this method of interaction truly drives home the excitement offered by this genre-defining action role-playing game."

Blizzard has added a "dodge mechanic" tied to the right analogue stick, which lets us 'dodge' attacks with the flick of our thumbs because console players 'expect to be able to do that' being on a console. Dodge? Dodge!? They should take it like a true hero and get sundered in the face!

They'll also be using the touch pad on the new DualShock controller. Check out the dev diary below.

Blizzard needs to suffer a bit financially before they will start caring about the fans again. How that is going to happen, I am not sure, but it will require the customers to act in some way.
