Focus Home date Wargame: AirLand Battle's release May 31st. They also tease the Dynamic Campaign at the heart of the strategy game, which is a follow-up to European Escalation.

Battle groups are dispatched via a theatre map, where you can jump in for real-time conflict. Units are "persistent all along the campaign" and yes, the campaign supports multiplayer.

AirLand Battle takes place during the Cold War period of 1975-1985, and focuses on the NATO-Warsaw Pact fisticuffs in Northern Europe. Get those jets ready.

Developer Eugen Systems explains their new "innovating and fascinating" campaign which dynamically evolves over time as you win or lose key battles: "When a zone is under attack and you need to defend it, or when you send your own battle groups to assault, you are thrown at the heart of the spectacular battles happening in real-time."

"Your army is persistent all along the campaign: your units and battle groups will earn experience, making them perform better with every battle they survive.... but keep in mind losses are definitive as well!"

To keep Commanders really on their toes they made sure to make the campaign multiplayer capable. Wargame: AirLand Battle uses the same fancy IRISZOOM Engine technology for incredible looking battlefields with great detail and zoom.

"The solo part of the game is composed of several new dynamic campaigns, during which you will manage all aspects of the battle. Lead each squad of the Theatre of Operation, and make good use of your reinforcements and strategic support. Each decision you make has an impact on the tactical outcome of battles, and also impacts the evolution of the global conflict!" blurbs the studio.

"Wargame: AirLand Battle still allows you to customize your own army in solo and multiplayer modes, thanks to the 'Deck' system, which is now being enhanced with an integrated 'viewer'."

Wargame: AirLand Battle releases on PC May 31st.

Much better campaign this time around by the looks of things. Not into MP (I leave that to loud-mouths on head mics) so this could interest me...when the price drops.

Dynamic campaigns always sound great, hope it's done well and I might give it a go. I skipped their previous game since I'm not into pvp either.

You should pick up the first on special Noccy, as the gameplay is very differently from anything you've encountered before, with the AI always unpredictable in SP (be it Campaign, that was much neglected for too long and skirmish where designing your force as Amour-heavy might backfire on you if the AI go with an Air-heavy approach).
It's all about Control Points, and when you do get the chance to zoom in and watch the battles play out it is a great sight. Too bad most time is spent zoomed out.
Let's hope for more interesting looking battlefields.
