5Lives Studios reveal Kickstarter countdown, suggest 'Syndicate successor'

What the heck did I just watch? It gave me tingly feelings I know that much. Good tingly feelings? Perhaps. I'll have to wait 35 days until I can know for sure, but 5Lives Studios is the source of this mystery.

A video has been posted by the totally unheard of studio that teases a Bullfrog Productions bigwig who, back in 1996, helped make a little something for PC. Now they want to 'redefine the genre'...

Back in 1996 something by the name of Syndicate Wars entered the PC scene, and the teaser heavily suggests that kind of dystopic environment is set to come back.

Mike Diskett is the former Bullfrog veteran the clip references. A website for a project called 'Satellite Reign' features a 35 day countdown and carries the 5Lives Studios' logo in the corner. This Kickstarter will be commencing in June and so all fingers point to a Syndicate 'spiritual successor' is in the works.

EA of course resurrected the Syndicate IP not too long ago but it was developed as a quite-good first-person shooter from Starbreeze Studios. Naturally fans of the PC series wanted a real return to the franchise, so perhaps 5Lives Studios is offering the lifeline they've been looking for?

Watch the teaser trailer below. Caution: Tingly feelings may occur.

I disagree with the term "quite good" when talking about the first-person Syndicate. "A rushed mass of wasted opportunities" perhaps.

And this looks promising. Let's hope.
