Wargaming.net is revamping artillery in their 8.6 update for World of Tanks as the studio looks to make advancing through that class "more comfortable for players." It'll have a "normal ten tier structure" to follow.
That means that tier 8 SPGs are bumped up to tier X, while the newly introduced SPGs will fill in the space left in the middle tiers. A new British tank is also being added.
The A33 Excelsior will join the UK roster. 8.6 features a new Korea map in the changelog. The primary focus though is artillery, which is World of Tanks equivalent of the sniper.
"Update 8.6 is a major step in game balance enhancement and is really going to make SPGs players happy," said Mike Zhivets, producer on World of Tanks. "Artillery gameplay is going to feel a lot more balanced with a normal ten tier structure, making advancing through that class of armor more comfortable for players."
The US tech tree adds M44 and M53/55 artillery, while the Soviets get the SU-122A and SU-14-1 and the Germans 10.5 GW Mk.IV(e), Pz.Sfl.IVb, and G.W.Tiger (P). Check out the for a look at the new SPGs.
