A Kickstarter by Fly Anvil is taking their Decision series into the Medieval timeline as they go from shooter to hack-and-slash. We need to defend our medieval town from horrible monsters through action and strategy.
We need to restore and control defensive towers, organising workers to repair and upgrade them, as well as lead our Knight into battle securing the town and training militia.
The studio explain how the game is broken into three layers; the character layer, the mission layer and the strategic layer. The first is all about the flow of combat itself.
Fly Anvil plan on many differing skillsets for our Knight to use, including weapons. The team is placing a top priority on the visual appeal of the world so they can portray it in great detail.
The mission layer is the total destruction of enemies - simple - but there are many facets to it like "intelligence, capture and upgrading mines, tower construction, militia training, shooting from the tower, etc." There are three war fronts in the game: Orcs, undead and people. The strategic layer, which is a mainstay of the Decision series, is the freedom to follow what actions we think are best to achieve victory.
• Colorful graphics
• Exciting fights and combat
• Variety of enemies (zombies, dogs, orcs, trolls and werewolfs)
• Variety of weapons from knife to stationary catapults
• Variety of skills for the main character
• The levels where you have to manage strategic defense towers to destroy enemies
• Freedom to choose levels allows you to develop strategies to control your captured areas
Decision: Medieval sounds an interesting project and it has only just begun its , with Fly Anvil seeking just $15,000 to secure funding with 29 days to go. The video below contains some gameplay.
