Activision has announced plans to release new content for Call of Duty 4 in the form of downloadable multiplayer maps. These new maps will be available to both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions and will thrust gamers into a hot zone of added combat across a variety of intense multiplayer locales.

“We’ve demonstrated our commitment to delivering the best multiplayer experience in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and that continues with our plans for new downloadable content,” explains Infinity Ward’s Community Manager, Robert Bowling. “We’re excited about the new maps, and the added gameplay variety, and we can’t wait to wrap things up and get online with everyone.”

This new downloadable content is scheduled for release this spring.

Hmmmm. What about us PC gamers out here? We\'re the ones who got the CoD series going in the first place, and before that of course MoH (from which many of the design team left to form Infinity Ward). Anyway, good news for our console bretheren...grrrrr!!!

It would be kinky if they don\'t release it for PC as well. I\'m almost certain they will. If nothing, fan base will find ways to get them for PC as well.

Trouble is, while we were led to believe "CoD4" was made for PC, it was actually designed witht the 360 uppermost in the Developer's minds all along. They now even freely admit it, though earlier impressions and showcases of gameplay had a very suspect little green "x" button appearing on the screen all the time, so most of us "tweaked" early.
