The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is the cover story of Edge Magazine's July issue, which calls CD Projekt RED's roleplaying game a "giant killer", the "giant" being The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
The cover story contains some meaty new info about the game. Perhaps the feature that will interest fans most is that the main storyline is between 40 and 50 hours, with an additional 40 to 50 in sidequests. Even better, there are no "Fedex quests." Geralt's decisions will have lasting effects in the gameworld, too.
As for gameplay, there won't be a tutorial mode. Instead, mechanics will be introduced at a gradual pace. The combat system now includes a dodge move that allows the pirouette tactics found in the books. He also now has the option to jump. Geralt will also have different stances based on the combat situation.
Finally, Geralt will now have a Witcher Sense which is similar to the Detective mode in the Batman: Arkham titles. The Witcher Sense will give the player an indication of hitting a monster's weak point for massive damage, like The Fiend's lungs.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be released for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
