Team Bondi was bought by Kennedy Miller Mitchell (KMM) back in 2011 after the studio collapsed following a rocky and very public workplace dispute after L.A. Noire shipped. They were working on something new.

Whore of the Orient was their latest project, but it suddenly looked a lot less likely after KMM was hit with layoffs. However $200k has been awarded to the studio by New South Wales.

Specifically the funding came from New South Wales' Interactive Media Fund. While $200k is a drop in the bucket when it comes to games, it does mean it's still on.

Game Informer also notes another recipient of funding from the New South Wales government was Intuitive Games Studios, which was founded by Team Bondi talent. Their project is called Canonical Five and is referred to as a "thrilling interactive detective game." They always return to the scene of the crime...

The L.A. Noire franchise is in the hands of publisher Rockstar Games.
