Some of the first high resolution screenshots from BioWare's Frostbite 3-powered Dragon Age: Inquisition have been posted online. One comes from a developer profile for programmer Matt Komsthoeft.

The others were disseminated through the official Facebook page. These shots are actually stills from the E3 2013 trailer for Inquisition. We're still a long way from getting our hands on the RPG.

BioWare has stated they're excited by the likes of Frostbite 3 because it frees them up to create more of the game world and focus less on trying to code their own new engine.

The screens were noticed by the BioWare forums.

Dragon Age: Inquisition is releasing on Xbox 360, PS3, Xbox One, PS4 and PC in Q3 2014.

It's too soon to be making those sorts of claims, if they've learned anything from DA2 then it should turn out ok. It looks pretty enough, not quite on the level of the new Witcher but still good.

It will sell well on the console platforms, but I fear a backlash similar to "DA II" from PC gamers. When will these empires of gaming goodness realise and pay respect to the audience that boosted them to fame and fortune?

Looks nice, but I have no intention of getting this. They have to present some REALLY mind blowing stuff for this one to be of interest.
