While linking to a Gamasutra article on monetisation, Gearbox Software boss Randy Pitchford has chest-beat his own RPG Borderlands 2 for giving the "best value in the entire industry" thanks to its latest DLC.

The Season Pass for Borderlands 2 includes all add-ons as part of the package, which is why Pitchford believes it of incredible value. He also touched on the controversial Aliens E3 demo.

Gearbox had got itself in hot water after being taken to court over its demo versions of Aliens: Colonial Marines. The accusation was that it reflected nothing of the final title.

"A false demo created after product was finished would be dishonest. To share intent with work-in-progress should be encouraged!" tweeted Randy Pitchford in response to a recent post. "The alternative is to never discuss any upcoming game until it is completely finished and available for purchase."

Last week the Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep DLC released on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. It adds a fantasy spin on the Borderlands 2 world with Tiny Tina leading a game of 'Bunkers and Badasses' with the Vault Hunter going along for the ride. It introduces a number of fantasy-flavoured enemies and bosses.

"Value provided far exceeds cost, does it not?" he commented about the DLC. "Dragon's Keep is probably the best value in the entire industry at the moment..."

He added: "I think it's arguable that the Borderlands 2 Season Pass turned out to be the best value of this generation." The Borderlands 2 Season Pass is priced at £19.99, with each of the four major DLC releases at £7.99 each. The pass also includes all other released add-ons like the additional two Vault Hunter characters and other treats.
