It's time for some more self-propelled muscle from ole Blighty, and Wargaming.net will be delivering more British artillery in World of Tanks with update 8.7. The primary focus of this update is the "new British SPG branch."

They tease "iconic and well-known" artillery is on the way with Sexton, Bishop and the Crusader as mid-tier entries. There'll be some "post-war prototypes" in the higher tier.

A new map is also coming with update 8.7: Belogorsk-19 is a "chilling and unforgiving Russian winter landscape," and is accompanied by a tier change for the Soviets.

"The core of Version 8.7 is the new British SPG branch,” said Mike Zhivets. β€œThe upcoming expansion features several stand out models that are likely to catch on with the masses and spice up the overall artillery gameplay.”

The Tier 5 Soviet light tank T-50-2 is being swapped out for the MT-25, "a visually unique light tank known for his high rate of acceleration and surprisingly powerful gun." For more about the proposed changes in update 8.7 check out the Public Test Server page, which includes a changelog.

I wonder what's the point of adding new SPG line when arty has been nerfed to the ground. On a positive side, there are no more arty parties in high tier matches so I can now enjoy playing tier X without fear :)
