It seems that NCAA Football 14 will be the last NCAA-licensed game published by EA Sports or anyone else for a long time, as the college authority has stated it will not be renewing its license for the publisher.
EA Sports exec VP Andrew Wilson has stated that the show will go on without NCAA licensing, promising that EA Sports will "continue to develop and publish college football games, but we will no longer include the NCAA names and marks."
EA Sports will get help from the College Licensing Company.
"Our relationship with the Collegiate Licensing Company is strong and we are already working on a new game for next generation consoles which will launch next year and feature the college teams, leagues and all the innovation fans expect from EA Sports," Wilson noted.
The reason for NCAA pulling its license is probably due to the fact that none of the college players see a dime from their likenesses being used in the game, led by a lawsuit by former players.
NCAA Football 14 was released last week on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
