As of July 18th, publisher Take-Two has renewed the trademark filing for 'Agent'. That's a not-so-secret project that was in the works by Rockstar Games and was teased as a PS3 exclusive back during the Cold War.
Oh sorry, I meant it was teased at E3 back in the day - the game is set during the Cold War. It was announced 6 years ago this month with 'counter-intelligence' mentioned.
Speculation as to what exactly Rockstar had up its sleeve with Agent was all that fans had to go on. Would it be set in a serious world, or take on more GTA-style black humour?
Take-Two and Rockstar did confirm 2 years back that Agent was still in the works. Will it remain a PlayStation exclusive? Is it still aiming for PlayStation 3? Maybe Rockstar have ditched the original plan in favour of next-gen hardware? Will I ever stop asking rhetorical questions? Perhaps, but when?
The logo appears unchanged after all these years as the recent filing mentions the Agent marking consisting of "the word “AGENT” with the shape of a handgun comprising the internal section of the letter “G”.” Aren't artists clever? Oops.
Rockstar's next major release is Grand Theft Auto V for Xbox 360 and PS3 September 17th. Fans are still clamouring for a PC release with an impassioned community petition now reaching over .
