Piranha Games is honoring the passing of one of its youngest Mech pilots, 5-year old Sarah Marie Alida Parries, with a sale of her favorite mech. The little girl passed away due to cancer, and 100% of all proceeds from sales go to the Canadian Cancer Society.
Sarah's favorite mech was a Jenner Class, “because she liked to move fast, lock on, and liked using night vision,” according to her father. She and her father played together while she was undergoing treatment for her cancer. (“This one time daddy was playing his game in his big mech and he walked up to a baddy and the baddy just BLEW UP!”, Sarah was quoted as saying once.)
Sarah's Mech is a uniquely skinned and outfiited Jenner, Champion Class. Piranha president Russ Bullock stated, “Sarah’s passion for ‘Mechs and her battle with cancer had a profound impact everyone at Piranha. She was an inspiration with her passion and energy for the game and our hearts and deepest condolences go out to her family. The outpouring of heartfelt sympathy from the MechWarrior community and the support and encouragement we’ve received to develop this unique ‘Mech has been nothing short of incredible. We have the best fans in the world.”
Gamers can check out how sales of Sarah's Mech, which will cost $10 USD, are doing , while the developer also has a dedicated web page where people will be able to donate to the Canadian Cancer Society and a FAQ about the 'Mech .
