Indie developer Phil Fish went on a Twitter rampage and canceled Fez 2, angrily stating he's done with videogame development.

It started when GameTrailer's Annoyed Gamer took Phil Fish and Jonathan Blow to task on an episode of Everything and the Kitchen Sink for not reacting to Microsoft reversing itself on independent developers now being allowed to self-publish.

Phil Fish's response was quite direct:

He then declared:

Fish's studio Polytron then tweeted, "It's with a heavy heart that we announce that FEZ II has been cancelled and is no longer in development. We apologize for the disappointment."

Later, Fish explained:

Stay tuned as the drama continues.

That's mature, anyway it's his money he's throwing away so more power to him.
This seems almost too unbelievable to be an reaction of an adult, there could be some hacking going on.

Well that is an Andy Kaufman avatar so I would take it with a grain of salt.

Yea, but both of those were done trough tweets, tweeter accounts have been hacked before. It takes a more concentrated effort to hack two separate accounts but it's not impossible, I'm just saying there still some room for doubt.

It's not a hack. For one, Phil Fish made his Twitter feed private.

In that case, damn :(.
This has to be the silliest reason to cancel a game I've heard before.

"People on the internet are not nice to me, I'm shutting down my company..."
Seriously, this is actually incredible :/.

As much as I liked Fez, I hated this guy. I can't stand pretentious people and this one's off the charts.
