Player-made maps for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive get another month in the spotlight as Valve extends their 'Operation Payback' event until August 31st. Over $150k has been paid to creators.
The idea behind the scheme is to draw attention to top rated community maps and help their creators earn some scratch for the trouble. Operation Payback includes 7 maps for $5.99.
These highly sought after custom maps are hosted on official dedicated servers, and not just private ones, hence why they come with a price tag to reward their creators.
"To celebrate the success of Operation Payback, we’re extending the event for an extra month. You’ll continue to get access to these fantastic maps on our official servers until August 31st," Valve.
"Meanwhile, we’re looking at a great list of maps that we hope to include in the next operation. If you’ve been working on a map, now is the time to make sure it’s in the workshop and getting votes!" Visit the official for more details about the 7 community-made maps. Currently the map pack is 85% off at $0.99.
