In a surprise move Capcom has announced they'll be "transitioning" from Games for Windows Live to Steam for the upcoming Ultra Street Fighter IV on PC. It's unclear how this will work exactly as it's DLC.
Capcom are releasing it standalone, but could also patch GFWL out of Super Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition 2012. They intend for Ultra Street Fighter IV to release simultaneously.
"...the intention is to have them all launch at around the same time. Should have more deets on PC ver soon," Capcom's Neidel Crisan.
PC gamers should at least be pleased to learn one more franchise is ditching the general disaster area that is the Games for Windows Live client. Few are more notorious than PC Grand Theft Auto IV which makes users jump through hoops to 'save' saves.
Ultra Street Fighter IV releases on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 in 2014. It retails at $39.99 standalone, but at $14.99 as an add-on to either Super Street Fighter IV or Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition.
