Sony has announced in a press release that the PlayStation 4, as first revealed at GamesCom 2013, will be launching on the 15th November 2013 in the US and Canada, and will be released to select countries worldwide.
Those select countries, in strict alphabetical order, include Australia, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom in the Old World, and Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama and Peru in the New World, all on the 29th November.
Sony then announced there would be 33 "launch window" games, which means that not all games will be available on day one. 15 of those games are disc-based and include NBA 2K14 (2K), Call of Duty: Ghosts (Activision), Skylanders Swap Force (Activision), Need for Speed: Rivals (Electronic Arts), Battlefield 4 (Electronic Arts), Madden 25 (Electronic Arts), FIFA 14 (Electronic Arts), NBA Live 14 (Electronic Arts), Killzone: Shadow Fall (Sony), Driveclub (Sony), Knack (Sony), Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag (Ubisoft), Watch Dogs (Ubisoft), Just Dance 2014 (Ubisoft), and Lego Marvel Superheroes (Warner Bros. Interactive).
