Creative Assembly has announced on the official forum their plans for future downloadable content for Total War: Rome II, their global strategy title. The DLC will include both premium and free content.

According to lead designer James Russell, “As with Shogun 2, we will continually improve the game’s compatibility, optimisation and integral features such as AI and gameplay balancing post-release, and plan to add to that with new control schemes and additional free formats on other operating systems.

“We are also very proud of how SHOGUN 2 is our most moddable Total War to date with over 500 user-made mods on Steam Workshop alone. We hope to support ROME II in a similar fashion.”

The Greek States Culture Pack DLC and free Pontus playable faction update will be available at launch, and in October the Seleucid Empire will be available for free. The Nomadic Tribes Culture Pack featuring the Royal Scythians, Roxolani and Massagetae will follow as premium DLC.

"...SHOGUN 2 is our most moddable Total War to date..."

Stop lying please you're really loosing me with this type of insulting BS, Shogun 2 was was NOT the most moddable game in the series. In the old days everyone could simply edit a single txt file and he gained the ability to play ALL the factions on the map. It was a 10 second job, all you had to do was cut and paste the faction list from one area to the other.

Stop spinning this cause this dress (of lies) makes you look fat.

Well that part was, indeed, just blatantly not true x3

I am pleased to see the Seleucids are free however, they are one of the most popular factions.
