Chris Roberts' Star Citizen has officially released its first modular piece of content to backers of the PC space simulator. The 'Hangar Module' lets Star Citizen fans poke around some of their pledged starships.
It's not available publically, only to those who've aided Cloud Imperium with pledges. It's the earliest Chris Roberts has ever released game content, he warns.
The hangar is where player ships will be kept safe between space adventures, with three tiers of hangar available dependent upon how large you're biggest ship is.
As of right now many are experiencing trouble with the Hangar Module, either because of some compatibility issues, or because Cloud Imperium's authentication server is overtaxed with the enormous amount of backer traffic eager to examine their ships. Again, the Star Citizen team warn this is the very first build release.
To-date Star Citizen has accrued over $16.7 million in pledges from over 234k backers.
