Want to see a Deathwing Terminator get stalked by Genestealers in a stranded Space Hulk? Nerd lingo aside, the first official teaser trailer for first-person shooter Space Hulk: Deathwing has been released.

We're enlisted into the Deathwing company, and as a Librarian we also master the powers of the Psykers. Four skill trees let us empower our Space Marine.

Streum On Studio is developing Space Hulk: Deathwing, who created E.Y.E: Divine Cybermancy. This shooter is based on the Space Hulk boardgame from Games Workshop.

"Players take on the role of a Space Marine from one of the most secret and most feared Space Marine Companies: the Deathwing from the Dark Angels. Strap on your Terminator armour and equip the emblematic weaponry of the Space Marines to overcome the threats awaiting you in the Space Hulk," describes Focus Home.

"As a Librarian, you will also master the destructive powers of the Psykers. Your skills and performance in battle grant you Fervor Points, to spend on 4 skill trees allowing you to improve your abilities, unlock new powers, access powerful relics and devastating new weapons." Space Hulk: Deathwing is powered by Unreal Engine 4.

Dude this is a teaser,i doubt the game looks half as good as this, unless you`re using your grandfathers pc there`s no reason to upgrade.

This is UE4, so an upgrade will probably be mandatory.
And if you've seen UE4 tech demos, you know that this level of ingame image quality isn't actually far off.
On a side note, AWESOME.

I'll push my specs till they bust, but this will require a step-up I'm sure. Luvely.

I just realised that these guys are the devs of EYE: Divine Cybermancy. That game felt like a hybrid between Dune and Warhammer 40K universes. Too bad it wasn't well optimised.

One can but hope they get this one right then, otherwise upgrading won't help a stitch if poorly optimised.

Ugh,optimization. The bane of every pc gamer.

+1 on optimization.

Tell me about it, my I just apparently ran out of video memory on Rome II. I have 4 GBs of it. Something in there was wrong x3

Memory leaks... memory leaks everywhere.

I have a friend running "Rome II" (yes, I got a look at last), and has everything maxed-out (Ultra/Extreme), with AA, 16xAF, SSAO and DoF checked. With a card the same as mine, a 560 Ti 1Gb, there is barely a noticeable drop in fps, in Custom BAttles.
Mind you, that's on a forested plain with no settlements or cities, but still. So far I'm not impressed.
God knows what it will do to mine with my rig having memory dumps at the start of the day almost every day:(

Did he check the :use unlimited video memory" option? If not the game actually throttles it's own graphics settings.
By herodotus (SI Herodotus) on Sep 05, 2013
herodotus
No, he didn't as that would have drained the 1Gb. I'll have to check it out over the weekend and see what happens. I can only mess with his settings, of course, but you're right. The game seems to throttle the graphics back of it's own accord, as even on Extreme it looks awfully bland.

It's a known point in the forums by now, if the game drops too low in FPS it actually just "corrects" itself to a point, particularly with textures. This has lead to a lot of people claiming the game looks terrible.

Well, not owning the game yet (and having very little spare time these days) I haven't been to the Forums. But good to know.

Okay, I've checked it out, and while we set the visuals to Ultra/extreme, and created a very large naval encounter, the game did stutter. However, it is smooth as even on Very High/Ultra with all the bells and whistles ticked on.
What I don't like is that I feel like I'm playing "Shogun 2" in a toga.

If u have Shogun 2 why would u buy Rome? There is no ninjas and katana's :)
