Bohemia Interactive has announced that a new update is available for Take on Mars, the indie developer's Mars exploration simulator. The update adds Steam Workshop support, new side missions, a Workbench suite and severe weather.
The Steam Workshop will allow for easy access to user-generated content, as is usual for the service. As a starter, the new content in Worksop includes a new crater location, a 4WD Buggy vehicle, Buggy customization options which includes audio, configurations, equipment and textures.
Also added are strong wings and dust devils, which have been problematic for real-life Mars rovers. To simulate this realistically, an overhauled Part Failure System feature will take weather conditions into account, adding a new dimension for players to deal with.
Take on Mars is currently on Steam Early Access for $12.99 USD. It'll rise to $17.99 at launch on the 3rd October.
