Godus beta keys sent out to Kickstarter backers

Peter Molyneux's development studio 22 Cans has starting sending out beta keys for Kickstarter backers of his upcoming god game, Godus.

The studio tells gamers they can help make Godus great by either posting in the official forums, or by just playing the game "and our magic analytical harpies will collect the data and wing it back to us. Using this we are going to refine and polish the core mechanics until they are DELIGHTFUL. "

Godus wrapped up its Kickstarter funding back in December 2012.

[Update: The game is also now available on Steam Open Access.]

I really hope the final game has better graphics,Black and White 2 looks better than this.

It seems to look like that by design so I doubt they'll change it all that much.

This is 2013 mate,i don`t want games made today to look like they were made 20 years ago.

Roderick, in a choice between one or the other I'd totally agree, but... we've had this discussion before :).

What should concern you a hell of a lot more than the graphical style is that it appears to be a glorified cow clicker. Having to "tap" each house everytime you get a new villager or belief.

Mobile game, clearly

Black & White 1/2 still look pretty good, that's the advantage of being PC-only (and not that old really). I'm most definitely not a graphics whore but I admit I saw Godus in action and immediately thought "this is intended for mobiles, isn't it?".

It's a truly shitty game.

Don't waste your money.

I actually kinda like the artistic style, but I can see how you might not. Looks like it'll be ok if they can reduce the clicky-clicky. Also not a fan of microtransactions, but you never know, they might balance it so that you're not shitheeled into feeling like you need to spend real money.

20 years ago was Master of Orion 1.

You can't expect crytech graphics in an indie/KS game. This game looked like dookie to me when I saw video of it a while back. Populous was cool, back in the day - haven't thought much of PM's work since.

It's okay. But keep in mind this is a BETA. There's no, for example, tutorial yet.
