Next-gen games won't carry over current-gen saves

While multiplayer status and perks can be carried over from the current-gen version of a game to the next-gen, the same won't be true of single player campaign saves. Gamers will have to start their campaigns over again.

According to the publishers, gamers who start their single player campaigns on games like Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag, Battlefield 4 and Call of Duty: Ghosts won't be able to carry over their Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 campaign saves to the Xbox One or PlayStation 4.

However, those game games will carry over progress in the multiplayer portion of the game, so players won't lose their prestige levels and perks. Even EA Sports titles, while not carrying over career mode saves, will carry the Ultimate Team cards to the next gen.

GameStop, Amazon and Sony will be offering $10 trade-ins for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of current-gen games.

God dammit corporations, you`re really making it difficult for people to move over to next-gen,even the 10$ trade-ins may not be worth it unless the ps 4 and xbone versions are better looking than the previous generation.

Eh. You were never able to port single player saves before. It's cool you can keep your MP progress.

True but that`s not gonna be enough for most, they need to make people want to do the jump to newer generations and trade-ins just aren`t enough.

Oh come on. If the game is good, you'll want to play it again after a while. Right?

Yeah, just finish the solo campaign on current gen, then redo on next. :D

Who buys a game on a console they intend to replace *and* intend to buy the same game for? $10 trade-in? It'd have to be $10 + old gen game = new gen game to make it even remotely reasonable.

Er, it is. You trade in your old game and $10 to get the next-gen version of that game.

Righto. That's fine then. $10 penalty for not waiting like good boys and girls. Mind you, I wouldn't be surprised if next-gen titles are just plain old more expensive also.

I saw an advert for Minecraft on the XBox One... $110.
Ahahahahaha. It's sketchy enough suggesting that people should pay 20 euros for it. The ad did say that the price isn't final and you get a refund if the actual price drops below what you paid. For $110 I'd want dinner first, or the kind of lewd acts that, frankly, I'd want rounder polygons for.

That's it, Ishikawa! Your comment is by no means uninformed or ignorant! It's totally original, too. Great job, mate.

Well, dude, I was being sarcastic.
I agree that PC is the best gaming platform, but upcoming consoles are pretty sweet too.
