Crytek general manager Nick Button-Brown has confirmed "great progress" on Homefront at the Nottingham-based Crytek UK. Work began on the project shortly after Kaos Studios' collapse under THQ in 2011.
The rights and ownership of Homefront were handed over to Crytek who is believed to have delayed its release to refine the shooter. Crytek UK has "a number of projects" as of yet undisclosed.
He told Develop that "the team in Nottingham – Crytek UK – is making great progress on our reinvention of Homefront," but didn't elaborate much more on the project.
The UK team lead development on Crysis 2 and 3's multiplayer modes. Homefront 2 is without official platforms or release window, although Xbox One and PS4 seem likely contenders. The direction of the Crytek-owned sequel remains unclear, with THQ having talked up a possible campaign in the UK before their collapse.
