Battlefield 4? Pfft. DICE's Patrick Bach has confirmed that 'Battlefield 5' will be rolling out even "more destruction" than this month's old timey Battlefield 4, and it'll being do so in "just a few years" time.
It should arrive once Battlefield 4's 12 months of Premium content has dried up. Bach remarked that "every new game needs to be the next big thing," and 5 is so bigger than 4, and math agrees.
The not-so-startling news that Battlefield 5 is already kind of in the works came from a recent , which also touched on violence in video games.
"We read everything and think, ‘What if it’s true?’" said executive producer Patrick Bach, referring to violent games being accused of leading to real-world violence. “Because that would be horrible. We’d probably stop the same day.” Bach doesn't even want the likes of Battlefield to convince gamers to sign up for real military service.
“I don’t want our players to be inspired to join the army,” he said. “I want them to be inspired to become great game developers and in 10 years join us.” No need to wait 10 years for the next big Battlefield though, soldier, as the New York Times reports Battlefield 5 will be out "in just a few years" - which is a no-brainer.
"More features. More extras. More destruction,” Bach added. “Every new game needs to be the next big thing.”
We'll have to make do with Battlefield 4 until then which releases on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 October 29th.
