The Minecraft and Zelda evoking voxel RPG Cube World remains in the works, despite the developer seemingly falling off the face of the world. Fans were growing concerned especially as they paid for an alpha build.
After months of silence they have emerged with news that the "new update is coming along nicely," and are messing around with new features and an "improved launcher." Phew.
Wolfram von Funck, aka Wollay, took to his twitter to say: "Don't be concerned, we're still working on Cube World. We just have a lot of additional work to do at the moment."
He gave a little more detail to : "The new update is coming along nicely. We’re still experimenting with some features and are working on an improved launcher. At the moment there’s just a lot of work going on behind the scenes, like customer support, server/website development, and we’re currently moving to a new apartment with more space for our development studio." Cube World had suffered DDOS attacks during its alpha launch.
“There’s an option for a smaller user interface, the controls will be configurable and there are a few new creatures,” he continued, when asked about what the future update would contain. “We’re tweaking game balance to make it easier at lower levels and harder at higher levels. We’re also experimenting with some major changes but I’m not sure yet which ones will make it into the next patch.”
There's no estimated date for the release of the update, "...“we’re doing our best to release the update as soon as we can, but I’m really bad at estimating.” Fans have grown justifiably upset over a lack of communication. Its voxel appearance sparked considerable interest in the RPG, appealing to Minecraft and Zelda fans alike.
