Despite flagging sales of the Xbox 360 due to the impending launch of the Xbox One, Microsoft saw $18.53 billion in revenue in the first fiscal quarter from June to September 2013, the most the company ever made in its history.
The company's net income of $5.24 billion marked a 19% increase over year to date.
Even though Xbox 360 sales were down, the company's gaming divisions and Devices and Consumer Hardware did very well. Much of this came from Xbox Live transactions, Bing search revenue and Microsoft Office 365 sales. Sales of the Surface tablet also helped.
Microsoft also expects the Xbox One to help push its Devices and Consumer Hardware revenues up 35% for a whopping $4.1 billion.
