Free-to-play MMORPG Star Wars: The Old Republic is heating up this December as expansion Galactic Starfighter features PvP space battles using player ships. Before now they've all been on-rails shooters.

BioWare is tapping the enthusiasm of Star Wars fans who want in on space dogfighting with plenty of pew-pew to go around. The trailer teases some of the new 'space arenas'.

Check out Galactic Starfighter on the official SWTOR website for a full breakdown. Subscribers get early access December 3rd, Preferred January 14th, 2014 and Free-to-play users February 4th, 2014.

PVP - pffft. The one thing I loathe about the game. Actually that's's not the only thing. But remember, BioWare said from the start, after much lamenting from fans, that "SWOTOR" was to be the successor to "SW:KotOR" and would be the third incarnation made into an RPG. That means, at least to me, more SP content. Not PVP.
