There may be something more from Remedy's Quantum Break before the year is out as Microsoft's Phil Spencer believes they've got a "pretty good piece" that people would love to see, so he's twisting some ears.
We'll get to see the "full Remedy vision," teased Spencer, with a "pretty good description" of how the game works with new gameplay footage. He mulls a possible showing at December's VGX event.
Remedy's Quantum Break turned a lot of heads back when it announced at E3, but little was forthcoming but how the Alan Wake creator was going to pull off its ambitions.
"We did a pretty deep dive last week while we were in Europe, and I'm feeling really good about the creative," said Microsoft Studios corporate vice president Phil Spencer, referring to Quantum Break. It's an Xbox One exclusive that will blend live-action videos with regular gameplay. A TV series is also in the works.
"It may be before the end of the year when we talk more about what the story and the gameplay is...We have a pretty good piece that I'm trying to coerce people into putting out before the end of the year ... showing the full Remedy vision, with Sam giving a pretty good description of how the game works with some new gameplay footage."
"Maybe VGX would be a good place for that," he added. Early in the year GDC takes place and many now take advantage of it before the big E3 moment during the summer.
"We've got a lot of news," Spencer said. "Frankly, we've got enough news that our E3 would be a little overloaded if we kept everything for that. We're being real thoughtful about the news that people want to hear and also the right time to announce games so that we're not too early."
