A stellar looking remake of Command & Conquer: Renegade is near full release as the Unreal engine powered Renegade-X has gone through extensive testing to bring back the now classic online shooter.
Pitting GDI and Nod forces against each other, each team has a base to protect and utilise while they try to destroy the enemy. The community remake began in 2007 and releases in 2014.
The February 26th date next year marks the 12th anniversary of C&C Renegade but is by no means a finished product, with team Totem Arts pledging updates will continue.
EA's decision to close Victory Games, who was developing the new Frostbite-powered Command & Conquer, had a knock-on effect with the Renegade-X project as marketing and distribution was going to be a rather official affair.
"The multiplayer release will be a beta. That means that although all core features will be in the game, it will not be the finished product. We plan on releasing patches, new maps, and new features throughout 2014."
For those who played the original C&C: Renegade it's quite amazing to see it brought back in modern form powered by the much more recent Unreal Engine technology. Indie team Totem Arts has done an amazing job and Kane lives once again thanks to their herculean efforts. Check out the for more.
