World of Warcraft maintenance reveals 'Level 90 Character Boost' for $60

For a brief time after the US servers for World of Warcraft came back online following maintenance there was an interesting peek at the character upgrade interface. It includes a boost too level 90 for $60.

As part of the Warlords of Draenor expansion, Blizzard is offering everyone a free character boost with pre-purchases given early access. The level cap is being raised to 100.

Is this $60 price point accurate? Unless Blizzard state otherwise, then yes. It also seems 'fair' as any lower and it negates the efforts of everyone who grinded.

It's also another way for Blizzard to claw back business from power-levelling services. However the price tag could just be place holder for now. The character upgrade interface is yet to officially launch but provides a means to directly buy certain items etc. through the game itself. The boost to level 90 doesn't include professions or any strong gear.

Why would anyone need this, is there not enough of actual game content to level a char by simply doing the quests?

Or does this basically mean that you can apply the boost to brand new chars as well(or mainly to them), so basically boosting a level 1 char to level 90 for example? This would be quite useful if so.

Sounds to me like this will be for characters of any level so when paying for the service I imagine people will use it to boost their level 1's. Its not a bad idea, I think it will mostly be used by veteran players who don't want to level their 5th or 6th character but already know the game.

I'm sure there will be people who will think this will fill the game with high level noobs though.

So this is very useful then, I played Lotro for a while and I had absolutely no intention of again going trough the exact same content just for an alt so I'd be tempted in such a boost if I needed an alt for some reason.

What a joke... I left WoW at the right time (around cata) as Blizzard has just lost it with nothing but driving WoW into the ground and releasing crap for their other franchises.
