XCOM: Enemy Unknown and Civilization developer Firaxis will be announcing a "new AAA game" tomorrow, according to 2K Games teaser for their PAX East 2014 'pre-show checklist'. More XCOM or Civilization?

The 'Firaxis Games Mega Panel' will commence tomorrow at 4:30pm BST for one hour at the DragonFly Theatre. 2K promise an "exciting sneak peek" at their latest project.

Maybe it's some kind of XCOM-Civilization hybrid? Has such mad gaming science been attempted yet? Well we'll find out tomorrow unless aliens invade or something.

2K Games will also have a playable demo of Turtle Rock's Evolve, along with a "20ft Goliath statue" that'll be a little hard to miss. The Pre-Sequel of Borderlands will also be giving a sneak peak. "On Saturday, you won’t want to miss Firaxis Games announce their next big AAA title, so get in line early for the Firaxis Games Mega Panel. The panel starts at 11:30 am at the DragonFly Theatre," blogged 2K. Will the studio return to XCOM so soon?

Could they fly a Jolly Roger? Maybe some civilization-in-space?

I'm really hoping it's the proper XCOM sequel at last. Terror From The Deep would be fine.

Probably a totally different game like Pirates or Barbie goes West or Pony Massacre MMO.

There's lots of stuff it could be. Firaxis is at a funny point, where I feel like I can rely on anything they do being good, but am not particularly excited when they announce an imminent announcement. To be fair, saying "We're going to tell you about something soon." is kinda underwhelming on its own.

It's Alpha Centauri II (different name, though).

I still want my 'Ancient Civilizations'. Anything past the Dark Ages bores me. But the Hittites, Babylonians and Sumerians? They rule.

Well, they say it isn't a successor to AC but that's how many are going to take it since it's sci-fi civ. Sounds kind of interesting. As always I'm completely underwhelmed by CGI garbage that has little to nothing to do with gaming and would rather see gameplay footage (the only video I found for it thus far was the trailer or whatever it is).
