EA offer free trial for SimCity on Origin

Ah, SimCity. Once you were the king of city-building simulators, beloved by all. Now you're basically the slightly wonky-looking kid at the party that nobody wants to dance with.

Perhaps recognising that even with an added offline mode (that should have been there from the start) most people aren't willing to forget the ridiculous mess that was SimCity's launch, EA is offering a free trial of the game.

Even the free trial is pretty limited - you can't play multiplayer and singleplayer is restricted to the Cape Trinity and Reflection Atoll regions. You can also only have two save games, which is admittedly less of a problem, but still a bit annoying. It's also pretty short, offering just four hours of gameplay.

Still, that should be enough to find out what all the fuss was not about. Check the SimCity free trial FAQ here.

I heard it's also a four hour time limit from when you first start the game. So if you check it out for 10 mins before work, there goes your free trial.

Well, with the size of the maps you're nearly done after ten minutes :P

Wasn't that impressed, to be honest and the lag with the visuals, which aren't anything to write home about cause low fps at the higher settings. Colour me...disinterested, after only half an hour too.

No thanks. I don't even want to pirate it.
