Quake Live goes down, success swamping servers
Posted: 25.02.2009 10:39 by Jamie Davey Comments: 4
Quake Live launched today, with over 113,000 registered users and 20,000 stuck in a queue upon signing up to the open beta service. All this has put pressure on id's servers, which are now offline due to the Content Delivery Network.

“Our CDN (Content Delivery Network) is having a problem, we are forced to push the site offline until this is resolved.“
said an id spokesperson.

When the open beta is back up and running again we'll let you know.

Update: Quake Live is now back online.

That's quite a hit to the head. First day - servers down. You sure don't hear that a lot.
