In a case of 'anything you can do, I can do better' - Microsoft has unveiled their new development kit for the Xbox 360, days after Sony's own rallying dev call.
This new sleek kit boasts twice as much memory, giving programmers an easier time, and a new interface loader for, erm, loading. Microsoft has also updated their XNA tools too.
"According to Microsoft, this additional memory aims to provide more efficient production for content creators, and will allow developers to smoothly run videogame assets alongside debugging and optimisation tools," reports
The new XNA has improved video playback and offers new audio APIs for keen community developers. It also allows for custom avatar integration with NXE and extends what indie teams can provide with their games, like DLC or Live Party functionality.
"The level of innovation and the number of submissions we receive each year to Dream-Build-Play has increased exponentially because the development community is becoming increasingly familiar with the XNA Game Studio," says XNA General Manager Boyd Multerer.
Yeah, suck on that Sony - that'll teach those PlayStation jerks to unveil new foliage simulation technology.
