Total Annihilation man Chris Taylor has revealed his sorrow for Hellbent Games, the console developer for Gas Powered Games' Supreme Commander.
The whole thing was "a hair on fire mission," and something they want to avoid with Supreme Commander 2. The sequel will head to consoles, but GPG will handle it themselves. "I felt bad the developer who did the Xbox 360 version just did not have the time or the resources," Taylor told Joystiq. The console port met a poor reception. "It was a hair on fire mission." "We're doing it in-house and giving it a lot more time and a lot more resources," said Taylor. "I would be very surprised if it didn't do as well as the PC version." The real-time strategy is still thought of as a PC-centric genre, and it's having a super hard time shaking that. Supreme Commander 2 is being published by Square Enix. Supreme Commander | |
