Jacobs: Last 2 months hard an "understatement", won't "damn EA"

Ex-Mythic boss Mark Jacobs had admitted that labelling the past two months of his life as difficult "would be a great understatement", but he won't offer bad words.

For people "looking or expecting" him to rant at his ex-employer you're going to be "sorely disappointed." Jacobs was "privileged" to work within EA's talent and has "fond memories".

"To describe these past two months as difficult would be a great understatement as change is almost never easy," blogged Jacobs.

"If you are looking or expecting me to damn EA or anyone there, you will be sorely disappointed. During my time at EA I was privileged to get to know a number of very fine professionals and I have some fond memories of working with them."

"As always EA has my thanks for their interest in acquiring Mythic and in supporting the development of Warhammer," he continued. Staffers at Mythic expressed their utter shock at their boss’s sudden departure, and suggested he didn't leave his post voluntarily.

"What I will really miss are the people. I wish that team nothing but the best of fortune going forward as my respect and love for them runs deep and I hope, is well known by them. I will never forget the effort made by those teammates during both the development of Dark Age of Camelot and Warhammer."

BioWare brass effectively now control the Mythic team, though their numbers are not to merge with their own, they will be staying separate from one another. Jacobs also revealed he knew of EA's plans for quite some time in his blog.

"Early in May, Electronic Arts let me know that they wanted to make some changes within the Games label and as a result of those changes I have been out of the office (and out of touch with the team, game, etc.) since that day," he said. Mark Jacobs co-founded the development studio back in 1990, and no one is sure what he's up to next.

I can feel the twerm "Contractual Obligation" pouring out of every word. He got a great settlement, on the condition he says nothing offensive. That sound about right? Very heartwarming...reeks of insincerity but still.
