According to reports, a new Resident Evil movie will be ready for cinemas by September 17th, 2010. A studio insider has supposedly confirmed the date.

It's called 'Resident Evil: Afterlife' and will be playing tourist in Tokyo and Alaska, with director Paul W.S. Anderson believed to be behind the script. Will Milla Jovovich return?

"...we've just learned from a studio insider that Sony is looking to get Resident Evil: Afterlife into theaters by September 17, 2010. That's according to an internal memo circulating through the offices there," reports ShockTillYouDrop.com.

It's most likely true given the ending of the third film, as it was by no means wrapped up. The movie subtitle 'Afterlife' certainly fits well after the last one, 'Extinction', so the story of Alice looks set to soldier on. Milla Jovovich must be the one to reprise the leading role...

The dropping of Jovovich is a big plus in my books. I've never liked her and always thought the support casts were way better. This could actually be a good RE movie finally.
