Borderlands demo a case of "if and when", maybe pre/post-launch

Gearbox would "love to do a demo," says studio writer Mikey Neumann, and they talk about it "every day" but it might never happen - they just don't know yet.

There's "a lot of factors" keeping them on the game and off a demo right now, they can't predict how time's "going to work out" on the project, but they're "doing really well" though.

"We talk about a demo every day. We would love to do a demo," Gearbox's Neumann told Shacknews. "There's obviously factors there. If and when we do one, I don't know if it'd be pre-launch or post-launch, because ...there's a lot of factors there."

"We would love to promise a demo, we can't quite yet, we just want to get the game done. That's always the hardest thing for developers to do--you never quite know how the time's going to work out. We're doing really well, but I can't promise it," he continued.

Borderlands is being released on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. It was kept silent at Gearbox for a long time until it was recently shown to have adopted a whole new art style direction.

A lot of factors in their lots of facts. What a weird, confused state of mind they're in.
