Russian developer GSC Game Worlds has recently confirmed that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. will be hitting the Xbox 360 console, but it won't before 'Call of Pripyat' is released for PC.
As for other major platforms or title releases, GSC's Oleg Yavorsky was coy about specifics. The studio lacks "enough manpower" to make their full console ambitions "come true."
Asked when the original S.T.A.L.K.E.R. would be heading for Microsoft's next-gen platform, Yavorsky replied: "We think that whatever port of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. for Xbox 360 won't come out before the full release of the game's sequel." This was during an interview with .
He was asked if 'Call of Pripyat' could reach Xbox 360 also. "At the moment, all are busy with preparing the PC version of the game. What comes after - we'll see."
"We have become a developer, not only for the Xbox 360, but also for the PlayStation 3 and the Nintendo Wii. We've been also developing a prototype for the PSP, but currently there's not enough manpower to make our ambitions come true," added Yavorsky.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. has enjoyed some great success among Russian and Western gamers, with its full sequel S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat due later this year exclusively on PC... for now.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R.'s bridge to consoles remains uncertain
