LucasArts unleash Jedi Knight "awesomeness" on Steam this week

The entire Jedi Knight series, featuring loveable ex-Imperial Kyle Katarn, is debuting on Steam this week on the 16th, and also on Direct2Drive. Remember those classics?

While not packing quite the same physics-based punch as the recent Force Unleashed, it never-the-less was the first real lightsabering fans could sink their teeth into; a gem of Star Wars.

"Oh - and Dark Forces/Jedi Knight's pack of awesomeness will be hitting D2D and Steam on the 16th. Love those games. Outcast MultiPlayer FTW!" twittered LucasArts.

There's no word on price yet but frankly the whole collection is worth its wait in gold, well, except maybe a certain Academy of Jedi. Can you resist the manic Jedi jumps and swooshing of your ligthsaber? Then there's the lightning and force choke...

No blue milk run...

Yes, I can resist the urge to splurge. Dark Forces was good for it's day, and even Jedi Academy wasn't all that bad, but now they can still be found in any game store's bargain bin. The price will be the clincher. If they want USD$10, then no way Jose.

Jedi Academy is still great fun with Moviebattles 2 Mod and JKA Galaxies Mini MMO mod coming as well. Both great mods.

I wish there was another new Jedi Knight game or Jedi Master game. Its only been 6 years since Jedi Academy was released and soon to be 7 years in 2010. Either way it would be awesome. Force Unleashed is crap compared to Jedi Outcast/Jedi Academy's gameplay. Its like a big step backwards. I have indeed played through all of the Force Unleashed and found it to be very lacking. Graphics are good, gameplay is crap. Story is okayish, but certainly not perfect.

I certainly hope that STEAM will do something about the resolutions so you can go widescreen, then it is a definite buy!
I bought the Fallout series just to have and skip the troubles of installing old games - but I think that good ol games is way better then steam since the Fallout's didn't supported the widescreen fan made fixes out there - and my old CD versioin did. Crappy STEAM!

I hope that they realize that they need to lay some hands on the games - not just stupid CP and DRM - but actually make the games playable. Money hungry bastaids all....

Now I can be properly happy o be wrong about this regarding steam and Jedi Knight :D ;)

I do definately recommend to everyone to get Jedi Academy, its a top quality game, and as Swift did say there is several really great mod projects released, and currently under construction for Jedi Academy, most note-ably 'Jedi Knight Galaxies', which turns the game into a mini-MMO (free-to-play)

Outcast was pretty cool. One of my favorite SW games of all time.

Yeah but I already have it and beat it many times over. I'll just sit and wait for a new one to come out. If by chance you don't have this get it!!!! It's worth it.
