Age of Conan developer Funcom has confirmed that it's laying off 20 per cent of its workforce, which will result in a delay for its upcoming MMO The Secret World. This delay could push the games release back by several months, reports E24.

Funcom haven't confirmed a solid date for The Secret World, but we did hear that it would be released in late 2010. This delay is likely to push the conspiracy-themed MMO back to an early 2011 release.

Age of Conan for Xbox 360 is likely to have been affected too, along with the upcoming expansion for the PC, Rise of the Godslayer. We're checking with Funcom now to find out about the status of these projects.

E24 has the full details.
