The Hollywood types have gotten their mitts on Kane & Lynch, with news that action man Bruce Willis will be filling the role of Kane. Lynch's role has just opened for casting.

Producer Adrian Askarieh says Willis called it "one of the best action scripts he's ever read," and that man knows his action scripts. Askarieh reveals it'll follow the videogame's premise.

"The script has been incredibly well-received around town," Askarieh told GameDaily. "After Bruce Willis read it, he called it one of the best action scripts he's ever read, and Bruce is an expert in terms of action scripts because he's read everything over the last 20 years."

Producer Adrian Askarieh is the man that turned IO Interactive and Eidos' long-time Hitman franchise into a $100 million grossing box office hit. Filming for Kane & Lynch begins March 2010.

"It's not going to have every sequence from the game, but it's essentially the story of a mercenary teaming up with a schizophrenic psychopath to save his wife and daughter," he explained.

Who's to helm the director's chair? That would be Simon Crane, a relative unknown. "He's a terrific guy and he's one of the best people at his craft in the business," assured Askarieh. "I cannot wait to see him blow people away with Kane & Lynch."

C'mon admit it, who here wanted that to read 'Bruce Willis stars as Command & Conquer's Kane'? Let's hope the movie does way better than the videogame did in critic reception.
