Rumour-mill: Amazon UK shows Interplay classics re-releasing soon

Retailer Amazon has its UK website showing some interesting wares, for this week no less, that Interplay is re-releasing a tide of old RPG gems in single and bundle form.

Oldies like Plane Scape Torment, Baldur's Gate 1 & 2 and Icewind Dale have been listed, with the new PEGI ratings. They're scheduled for release October 30th, with full XP and Vista support.

"This item will be released on 30 Oct 2009," is marked on all of them. They range from single title releases to bundles with expansions included, going from £4.99 to £17.99 respectively.

PEGI's website includes these ratings in their database so it looks a sure fire thing. Amazon's US compatriot doesn't list these re-releases, which means it could be just for Europe, or at least for now. All the RPG titles carry both the XP and Vista logos.

Interplay recently launched re-releases for the Fallout franchise, which is just yet another heated issue between the publisher and developer Bethesda in their lawsuit.

Interesting. I may have to pay Baldur's Gtae 2 another visit, though many of these are best left in fond memories. "The Witcher Enhanced Edition" is 50% off on Steam at the moment, and Dragon Age Origins is due, so I look more to the future for RPG's.

Believe it or not, but Baldurs Gate is with the wide screen and resolution mod still a very good game that once you pass the 2:nd ed rules and graphics totally will suck you in. It has something that more and more games starts to lack IMO - fantastic game play!
Also, Fallout 2 with a wide screen mod is good, though it takes awhile to get over the graphics ;)

Planescape torment however would be a definite buy, that game alone is still the very best story ever released in a computer game IMO.
