Developer Cryptic Studios has announced their latest MMO Champions Online now enjoys one million created characters, though it must be noted a single user can create many.

Champions Online is having a free-to-play weekend that starts today, aimed at enticing newcomers to try out the latest Blood Moon content for nothing until Monday. Free spandex!

From today at 5pm UK time until Monday November 2nd, all who download the game client can join in the superhero ruckus and take part in the special Halloween events going on.

"Hate zombies? Abhor mummies? Detest the dreaded undead? Like to play MMOs for free? You could be the one. You could be the Champion we need!," teases Cryptic's promotion.
