1000 Xbox 360 games by summer, has the best games

It seems like just yesterday we were looking back and saying, "hey, why does the Xbox only have like five good games? The PS2 has so many..." Then again, the PS2 was undoubtedly littered with trash, since developers tend to lend to the murky water of crapware every year in their publishers need to make a few extra bucks.

Tis the way of life, sadly. Works in every form of the entertainment industry, with the possible exception of books, but who the hell reads those things, right?

In any case, the 360 is poised to beat the 800+ titles the Xbox original had by reaching the 1000 mark this summer, according to Chris Lewis, Xbox VP for Microsoft Interactive Entertainment Europe. Along with that long title comes the truth, supposedly, and summer is a nice playing ground for those big numbers since the kids are off from school and us working folk decide its too hot to work so much.

Also, Mr. Lewis pointed out that the 360 has the best games of any console, and that's why it'll win this console war. That's like saying "yeah, this book is better than that one because ours has a better story." That's typically how things work...when someone picks up a console, they look at the games. At least that's Microsoft's take on it.

They aren't wrong...the 360 certainly has about too many good titles over the PS3, and in some cases (cough cough Madden 08 cough cough) even the same game is better on it. But you don't have to be the Xbox Europe boss to know that. It must be the price cut that's getting to him.

It seems like Microsoft isn't exactly taking into consideration the fact that some people do use their PS3's as media players, especially in Europe now that you can record and watch TV through it. I would be surprised to find that the price cut for the 360 changes much if the big MS doesn't step up and make their console a media whore like Sony's, because I sure as heck would want one.

I still think this "console war" is absolutely pointless.

Pointless like a lot of things in life but a cruel reality. Mostly we, the hungry gamers, will benefit from it. :)

Benefit? The console war keeps the game creators in anger and hate for other consoles how can we benefit from that? And a lot of games are bein canceled because they are trying in a way when a company makes a game they see it and get angry they start a project with jelousy and the project brakes down ...Dont know hope we will get some new system in the gaming culuture. If not we will play tennis lol.

Well competition is what makes everything healthy. Cause everybody needs to work harder to make things better.

Well down side is that some games end up releasing exclusively for just one consoles, so Microsoft or Sony could benefit from increased consoles sales. From what we then don't really benefit.
